Yes. It makes me happy to know that I have a reason to hurt. It leaves me with hope that one day it will end, and I will be home.

I never thought about it like that. It makes a lot of sense. But isn't it hard to always think like that?

It is better to face things and not fear them. A sign of fear is hiding. I would rather not hide from my feelings, but embrace them.

I think there's a difference between not embracing and hiding from. But I haven't lost anyone that close, so maybe I don't know.
