Accidental Video

-=The aftermath of the snowball war is apparent everywhere. Trampled snow, destroyed forts, knocked over building debris and trees...

But one tree stands alone. And Hawke's there, busily carving names in the highest portions of the trunk, letting them winding down towards the base by the snow trampled ground.

He's currently working on his own name, a design of swirls and points in a language that no one would really know here. It's his full name, a name that he has revealed to no one here, not even lovers. Hawke takes his time, brushing off bits of bark here and there. When he's finally done, he sighs softly, touching the markings longingly. A moment later he pulls his cloak closer to his body and continues on with the work. He must have been out there for a while now, since he's wearing a heaving cloth around his waist that's down to his ankles, a tunic and the cloak.=-

[Her head somewhat nervously twitches away from Hawke's voice.]

[And before long, it's written: うさぎ]

-=he straightens, frowning slightly at her reaction and is quiet until the writing is done. And when it is, he steps off to the side, brushing the bits of bark away.=-

It is beautiful.

It's just kana. Most people write their names with kanji, but I'm not so good with that.

[And it'd make the jokes worse, probably.]

Kana? I do not know those markings.

[Usagi gestures to her name.]

Ja pa nese.

[She enunciates it just a bit more than strictly necessary.]

-=he repeats it, looking at the Kana.=-

[This time, she points to each character.]

-=a slightly uncertain smile.=-

That's pretty good! [says the girl who pronounces English terribly.]

I thank you. -=a bit of a bow there. This boy isn't much better!=-

I could write Mako-chan's name next to where you wrote it, too, so it's there in both.

I think that is good. We will have to climb higher, though.

Ladder, ladder, ladder...

[She cranes her head all around as though actually half expecting to see one.]

-=Looks at her strangely before swinging himself up onto the next branch, reaching down to pull her up.=-

Are you coming, Usagi?

[Geez, Adstring. Usagi looks uncertainly up into the branches.]

Climbing it?

Mm. -=nods=-

It is not hard.

[Sigh.]

I'll try!

I will help!

[And with Hawke's help, Usagi clambers into the tree, managing to avoid bringing them both down to the ground.]

-=Hawke's strong! He won't let her fall. Finally, they make it to the right branch, and they can sit instead of stand n the branches.=-

[Usagi sits with an unmistakable breath of relief.]

I can reach from here, though!

[She will find the silver lining.]
