Accidental Video

-=The aftermath of the snowball war is apparent everywhere. Trampled snow, destroyed forts, knocked over building debris and trees...

But one tree stands alone. And Hawke's there, busily carving names in the highest portions of the trunk, letting them winding down towards the base by the snow trampled ground.

He's currently working on his own name, a design of swirls and points in a language that no one would really know here. It's his full name, a name that he has revealed to no one here, not even lovers. Hawke takes his time, brushing off bits of bark here and there. When he's finally done, he sighs softly, touching the markings longingly. A moment later he pulls his cloak closer to his body and continues on with the work. He must have been out there for a while now, since he's wearing a heaving cloth around his waist that's down to his ankles, a tunic and the cloak.=-

Yes. -=He nods again, looking back to the bark of the tree.=-

Mm... [She hesitates uncharacteristically and finds the branch quite interesting.]

But what name should I write?

[She writes slowly and carefully.]

[When she finishes, she smiles and turns her head up towards Hawke.]

[She grins the smile of a well-praised kid.]

Mm. Mako-chan and Chibi-Usa are both written here now. They'll be remembered.

And with each season, they will be closer to the sky as the tree grows. One day, they will be one with the Ancestors, as we all will be.

I wonder when that will be.

I understand. [She finds a shaky smile.] I just when I knew when it would be the proper time.

Do not worry that you do not know when. Be happy that you know that it will happen.

I have been here for two turns. I know I will go home, even though my heart hurts that I am here. My work here is not done, so I will remain here until the Ancestors feel I have finished walking this path.

I understand. There are things I can do here, too.

All things happen for a reason. Perhaps it is your path to help others here for a little while.

[She becomes uncharacteristically serious.]

I can't believe that. What the Animus are doing here is wrong because it tampers with all our fates.

But I believe we can make something good of it.

Maybe that's it. [She smiles; she does a lot better at the joking than serious talk.]
