From the start, he has challenged me. I simply took him up on that.

...And yet you don't think he should have been killed, do you? How interesting. My reasons for taking life or not doing so were established long ago, Carmen. They aren't interesting in the least, I have no qualms with them.

I will admit that I did not agree with the decision to break him. There is no use to someone who is broken, and no true satisfaction. Dead is a preferable alternative.

But I believe in holding to plans. When one or more departs from a plan on whim, they prove that they are not reliable. You would follow those who are Hokage, but not this Koumei, who created the plan. A very useful piece of information.

Mmm, of course. Well now, didn't know you cared so damn much about Koumei-san and his plans.

Against the plan? Hardly. He wanted him broken, utterly, and I was willing to use any force necessary and cause whatever harm necessary to achieve such an end. I wanted him dead. I did not kill him. Take from that what you wish.
