There's an old legend about them, but I've forgotten what it is. Something about catching the bad dreams, right?

One's dreams float around them, like a cloud.. when they are sleeping. The baubles on the strings attract them to the catcher and the dreams go around and around, with the unhappy ones becoming tangled in the web, like fish in a net. The good dreams pass through the center, unharmed, and return to the sleeping person.

Then when it is morning, the first rays of the sun should touch the dream catcher to burn the bad dreams away and prepare it for another night.

What makes the unhappy dreams tangle and the good ones escape? What if it catches the good dreams by accident?

The stones are charmed to make the bad dreams get caught. The feathers are to wash the good dreams so there are no negative memories. I have not seen any dream catcher made in this style be faulty.

I've always been able to watch them from our house. One side of it has been made of glass so we always could see the sky.

There have been times when I have spent nights outside of the mountain. We would be up all night watching the stars.

I always argued with everyone. Especially with Alice and Edward. It's just unfair when they use their abilities to communicate without giving anyone else the chance to follow.

There were some who did not agree that I should live at the Mountain, much less learn from Shai. Those who felt I should be with my own kind could not argue when I passed the tests.
